Hello everyone, and welcome to the summer heat. of there are any beds or pots that still need planted or replanted, here are a few suggestions:

Cora Vinca - An improved version of the old favorite.  The improvement is in disease resistance to go along with the traditional heat tolerance.

Duranta -this tropical beauty grows 24" tall and has great blue flowers that will thrive in double digit heat. Great for pots and areas where you may need a little larger plant.

Ixora - or the tropical Geranium is one of the most heat tolerant tropicals we've found. Fair drought tolerance to go along with clustering orange flowers are great in any pot. 

And we still have a decent selection of both cajun and tradewinds hibiscus at both nurseries.

As always I'll also suggest a top dressing of shredded mulch to any bed if you haven't added it already. The mulch will help cool the plants roots in the summer, and absorb water to keep things healthy. Plus it looks better than hard cracked soil. 

Drink lots of water, wear sunscreen and enjoy the heat!

In order to keep some plastic out of our landfills and reuse what we can, we are starting an empty flat buyback program.  We'll offer a 5 cent credit per flat for each empty flat you bring back to us.  We can't use the individual 4" pots, but the empty flats themselves are easily reusable. 

A second program we've started is a Colorstar fertilizer refill program.  If you bring back your empty 2, 4 or 11 lb colorstar fertilizer jars, we'll refill them and give you a 20% discount off of the new jar price.
